Only God can declare something or someone to be holy.
Leviticus 20:26 (NASB) Compare translations and the original languageWe are at the mercy of God to make us holy. How can we obtain the holiness of God so that we can approach Him?
Consider memorizing one of the following passages (in whichever translation you prefer) as a summary of this lesson: Exodus 15:11 (ESV) or 1 Samuel 2:2 (NASB) or Isaiah 6:1-5 (KJV).
Don’t forget to emphasize the holiness of God when sharing the Gospel. God, not other people, is the standard.
As we follow Jesus, He will make us into the fishers of men that He wants us to be. For whom are you fishing?
Salvation is about knowing a Person (Jesus), not about going to a place (heaven). Salvation is not about where you go; it’s about Who you know.
When we share the Gospel, we are inviting people to know Jesus personally. Be careful not to make it about entering heaven and escaping hell.
God alone saves souls; our job is to sow the Seed of the Gospel, entrusting it to the Lord of the Harvest.
