What makes Jesus qualified to give us eternal life? Why is He different from any other human?

  1. Jesus is God. John 1:1-4 (NASB) Compare translations and the original language

    Jesus existed before all creation.

We must honor Jesus to the same degree we honor God the Father.

  4. Jesus created everything. Hebrews 1:1-4 (NASB) Compare translations and the original language

Everything that has been created was created by Jesus. He didn’t create Himself because He has always existed as God.

God planned even before He created everything to send Jesus to save us.

  8. Jesus never sinned. Hebrews 4:15 (ESV) Compare translations and the original language

  9. Jesus fulfilled prophecy. His virgin birth was predicted over 600 years before He was born [Isaiah 7:14]. His birthplace was predicted 700 years before He was born [Micah 5:2]. His crucifixion was predicted 1,000 years before He was born. Psalm 22:1 (NKJV); Psalm 22:6-8 (NKJV); Psalm 22:14-16 (NKJV) Compare translations and the original language

God the Father planned before the beginning of creation to send the Son into the world.

Jesus was forsaken by God the Father because of our sin. Oh, how He loved you and me!

  15. The Gospel is the Good News that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again from the grave. Over 500 people saw Him alive, risen from the grave. 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 (NASB) Compare translations and the original language

Imagine 500 people claiming they saw a spectacle. That would be great proof that it happened. Over 500 people saw Jesus alive after He arose from the grave!

Jesus is seated, showing His work is complete. His death is sufficient for all time!

Consider memorizing one of the following passages (in whichever translation you prefer) as a summary of this lesson: Romans 4:25 (NASB) or 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (KJV) or 1 Peter 3:18 (NKJV).

As we pray for opportunities to share the Gospel, it is important to take advantage of those opportunities when they come.

Have a positive approach and keep the conversation friendly, positive, and constructive as much as possible.

Assume that friends and strangers want to hear the Gospel from you. If you look for a reason not to share with them, you will find it every time.

When sharing the Gospel, it is important to emphasize that Jesus is God in the flesh.

We cannot argue someone into God’s family. We must be courteous when sharing the Gospel and trust God alone to do the saving.
